A free sample pattern from Tallyskein. Two quick coasters in two colors: a full-size one for mugs and a mini one for espresso cups. Try counting along: tap + and watch the highlight follow your round.
Finished size: about 11 cm (4.5 in) across, and 7 cm (2.75 in) for the mini.
ch = chain · sl st = slip stitch · sc = single crochet · dc = double crochet · sp = space · st(s) = stitch(es)
Each round is joined with a sl st. The number in brackets at the end of a round is how many stitches you should have, and Tallyskein shows it next to your counter.
